They seem to have the best culture for nurses. They have the lowest patient to nurse ratio in the area and offer everything from peds (Le Bonheur) to adults.

She would prefer a medium to large size teaching hospital. Though I'm not sure how Denver rates, If I remember correctly UCH is ~400? These are the two main hospitals in our area:
MedCenter One Health Systems 238 Beds 140 Physicians St. Alexius Medical Center 308 Beds 174 Physicians
UCH is a prime choice from what we have read. Denver Health? Rose Med?

I don't work in a hospital, so I don't know the hospital situation well. UC Hospital, Children's, Denver Health, Rose, St. Joseph's, Pres-St. Lukes's and St. Anthony's are all teaching hospitals. There may be some more. UCH and Children's are now in Aurora. St. Anthony's is moving to Lakewood. The rest are in Denver. The suburban hospitals tend to be community hospitals with less acuity.

Default other options

Hi - Porter Hospital, located close to the University of Denver, and Parker Adventist are both good hospitals. Good luck.

I would go with a Denver teaching hospital for the experience first.

Default Which hospitals pay for their nurses grad school?

hello everyone,

I wanted to start by saying I know most hospitals give some sort of help to their nurses with grad school. This being said, I'm looking for the ones that really go above and beyond in this area. I graduate this march from drexel university with my BSN. I plan on going into a geratric practitioner program as soon as I can. I'm looking for a position where they pay 100% ideally, but I would look at other situations too. Also, since I'll be a new grad, it is very important to me to get into a good orientation program. Thank you for your time. Also, if you know any good head hunters that will help me find a good position I'd appreciate it.

take care
keith

I don't work in a hospital any more, and only ever worked in one in Colorado (Lutheran), and then in home health. That said, I would look at University Hospital, now in Aurora. It is affiliated with the University of Colorado. It has some sort of new nurse internship program.

CU, University of Northern Colorado and Regis U. have the only master's in nursing programs in Colorado. CU and Regis are in Denver, UNC is in Greeley.
