My husband and I will move from Houston to Colorado, but we don't know where to live. We are thinking in Denver as an option. We are not from the United States we are from Latin American, so we don't know nothing about Colorado. Can anybody help us with recommendations? We are thinking in renting a house or an apartment with a rate between 1000-1200 per month. Is that possible in any city in Colorado?
1. Which cities do you suggest us to live? (Denver, Lakewood, Louisville or another)
2. Can we get a 2 bedrooms house or apartment for 1000-1220/month in those cities?
3. Which neighborhoods do you recommend us in those cities?
4. Do they have public transportation or do I need a car? (because Houston have a bad public transportation system and I really need a car but I don't like to drive)
5. What about safety in those places?

You will be hard pressed to find a 2BR house to fit your budget.

Start by looking at padmapper.com and beware of the scammers on craigslist so read and heed the warnings.

Just heard on the news, the average rental amount in Denver is now $1,800 and climbing fast.

1. I suggest you aim to live in a city/town that is up to 30 minutes away from where you and/or your husband will be working. Get the job offer first and then we can advise you on the areas.

2. This will largely depend on where in the state you are living. For example, I am seeing several houses within your price range in Pueblo, Colorado but nothing downtown.

3. See my answer to #1

4. There are public transportation options. Check out the RTD website at RTD for more information.

5. Get back to us with the job location and we'll advise.

Perhaps on the west side of town, Jewell and Federal/Sheridan there are lots of rentals in that price range.
