Good and congrats Douglas County! Ironically we didn't do as well in Denver and only got one non-Reformer and one kind of middle of the road member in. But at least it's not the entire board.

Fortunately the debate in Denver is charter vs neighborhood school. No one is talking about using vouchers and pulling the money away from the district.

I still wonder, who were the group of people who thought it was ok to implement this horrible voucher program in the first place. Religious people wanting to send little Johnny to a catholic school on the taxpayer dime?

Pretty much. Also people who want a tax subsidy for sending their kids to private school.

Private school is expensive. $25K a year is much better when you get $& back from the gov. Doesn’t really help the poor kids who are stuck in an underfunded school and can’t go to a decent private school for that much.

The real agenda is being driven by a group that is anti public education.

Not just Catholic schools, there are private Christian schools as well that wanted voucher money.

I'm just so glad this will be shut down and I don't even have kids. You want to send your child to a private school, go right ahead, just don't expect me to pay for it.

I'll give you a hint....

Betsy DeVos is a huge proponent of vouchers. And who put her in her current position?

I do wonder what their reaction would be if there was a Muslim school locally that some taxpaying citizens wanted to use their voucher money for.
