Just looked again, these numbers are from almost 5 years ago, "Median gross rent for 2011"

It may be time for an update bloomberg

lol! That sounds like me. With two kids, eating out can be quite expensive, and they don't care if the food is expensive. Last week we ate out at Wahoos on Thursday when it's kids eat free night. So it was about $20 to feed a family of 4 - plus their food is reasonably healthy.

I was going to mention this as well. This city is vastly different in terms of dining than it was 4 years ago.

If anyone thinks our food scene isn't good, you're just not trying very hard. There is no shortage of good options out there. We've had several people revisit who specifically said they were looking forward to trying more of our restaurants.

It's most definitely on the upswing, even in the last fifteen years since I've been here. It's obviously not on the level of some of the highest regarded foodie cities, but the influx of famous chefs moving and opening restaurants here is an indication of the direction Denver's/Boulder's restaurant scene is headed.

One needs only look and see that two years ago, a Denver restaurant (Rioja) won the James Beard award for Best Chef Southwest, (for the first time, a Denver restaurant won) while a Boulder restaurant (Frasca - run by two French Laundry trained people for FOH and chef) finally won the James Beard award for Best Wine Service after being up for the award numerous times before.

I still can't get over Tampa being higher than Denver. I mean that's a place where they think Hooters has good food.

Have you actually been to Tampa? It's an international port city with tons of amazing food. I mean really. There's a reason why Miami is also on that list.

Been there? I lived there for 2 years. There were some good Cuban places.

I think Boulder and Ft Collins have good food scenes, actually great food scenes. Denver not so much. Been to a few places on Larimer Square and spent over $100 each time with the wife, neither were that good. 16th street has the same places as every other city. Haven't been to too many places in LODO.

You're doing it way wrong. 16th St. and Larimer Square aren't even close to where the great Denver restaurants are. They're tourist traps, not where locals go to eat.

Also, do you guys not realize that this list is for the most eateries per capita which has no bearing on the quality of the restaurants counted? This isn't a cities with the best restaurants list. Notice the amount of fast-food establishments per capita that some of these cities have which helps boosts their rankings..
