We are thinking of moving to Denver area from Naperville, IL . I am a lead developer for a financial institution and he is unemployed. I am currently making 120k per year and a 30% bonus potential (which was payed at around 70% until now). From what I have seem, houses are a little bit more expensive in Denver than in Naperville area. But from what glassdoor says the salaries are not as high as I am making right now, and I couldn't find a lot of .net positions either...
My question is, how accurate is glassdoor? Do I have a chance of finding a similar position (or higher - I am thinking it's time for next step in my career) at the same salary?

You should have no problems finding a development job here. It all depends where you want work to be located and where you want to live.

When you say Denver area do you know where exactly? If you expand it to the Denver Metro area the opportunities expand quite a bit.

We don't have a specific area in mind, I was thinking finding a job first and then see. We are not into night life, and we appreciate safe and nice neighborhoods, so most probably it will be a suburb. We like open spaces too, and we will probably look at houses with bigger lot sizes, but I am aware that West coast has smaller lots that midwest...

You didn't know. It is actually an entertaining thread if you ever get a chance to read it.

I work in the tech world but I am not a developer. I see developers come and go at my current company. They seem to have opportunities all over the metro area. When I say metro area I am talking about the cities that also surround Denver including Boulder. I am willing to bet you could make just as much or even more than your current salary all of course depending on your experience.

Well I have over 12 years of experience, mostly C#. Now that I am thinking, glassdoor salaries might not be very recent....
