High purchasing power with low property prices, makes Denver super affordable, plus it has a good and sunny weather..... sounds like a great city to me

You just made a statement without any support. But I do like Denver very much and agree that it has a high quality of life. So does Seattle though.

But if people move here, then rents will rise, traffic will worsen, unemployment will increase, pollution will get bad, and Denver will cease to be better than those other cities.

So if people want all of these things, they should NOT move here because by the time they do, Denver will no longer be the best city to live in.

Yes, great city for jobs and recreation, lower taxes, no so great for congestion/traffic and not sure where that figures into the rating if at all. I-25, I-70, C-470, I-225 all clogged with traffic/accidents and this is during normal weather not winter. Try driving up I-70 on a weekend to ski and enjoy those beautiful mountains in the distance. If you can live here and use light rail for your commute you are way ahead of the game. I think most folks here have just gotten use to the delays and deal with it including myself but someday I may just get tired of it once the population explodes further over the nest 5-10 years.

I drove in Chicago a couple of weeks ago. Our traffic is bad, but not that bad.

Interesting article. It is all true. Comparing us with Boston, San Francisco and NYC seems weird. But I guess were getting big enough for that. However I think true urban city dwellers won't be happy here. Were still urban city-lite. You can find plenty of boomerang posts from true urban city lovers that bounced back to where they came from. People fleeing the big city life seem to be happier when they relocate here.

Yea whenever I get frustrated with Denver traffic I go visit the folks in NYC for a few days and come back appreciative.

With that said, just because other ****s smell worse doesn't mean ours don't stink sometimes!

Denver's traffic is better than just about every other major city. If you want to live in a city Denver's size you can't really complain about traffic, just goes with the territory. If traffic is a concern you need to live in cities FT. Collins size and smaller.
