Downtown Denver's Grand Illumination, November 24th

It may be cold outside, but Downtown Denver will soon glow in the warmth of nearly a million holiday lights! At 6:30 p.m. on November 24th, the Downtown Denver Grand Illumination Lighting Event will light up the city from Union Station to Larimer Square, from Skyline Park to the Denver Pavilions and culminating at the City and County Building.

Union Station will be ablaze with floodlights illuminating the historic structure in the heart of Lower Downtown. Special programming will also take place, including costumed Yuletide carolers, a Children's Museum craft table, model train tours, delicious treats and much more! The countdowns begins with Union Station at approximately 6:30 p.m. and end at 6:45 p.m.

In addition, Skyline Park will again feature nearly 26,000 lights, adding to the seasonal atmosphere of Downtown-including the historic D&F Tower. Over 300,000 brand new, energy efficient LED lights will turn the 16th Street Mall and California and Curtis Streets between 14th and 16th into an enchanting holiday promenade. Giant holiday snowflakes will also be hung along California and Curtis Streets.

One of the holiday season's longest running traditions, the 9NEWS Light the Lights event takes place at the City & County Building, when more than 600,000 lights will once again transform the structure into one of the most beautiful and popular holiday lighting displays in the region. Performances will entertain the crowd at this event from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., ending with a countdown to the lighting ceremony at approximately 6:45 p.m.

Don't miss this holiday tradition! Visit www.downtowndenver.com for more information!

The Lighting Event is a collective effort of the Downtown Denver Partnership, the Business Improvement District, Downtown Denver Events, Inc., 9NEWS, Denver Pavilions, Larimer Square, the LoDo District, Inc. and the Regional Transportation District.
