Probably one of those on E. Colfax, between downtown and Colorado Blvd. "The Squire" comes to mind, but I haven't been in there since 1995.

Squire is definitely up there along with the Satire (PS) Lounge which also on E. Colfax.

Yeah, that one too. They've got to be very old. But I like their old signs

Too late. The Squire has been "hipster-zed". Bar Bar (also known as Carioca) was always a great dive but I haven't been for a few years. It still looks like a dive on the outside. I love the Knob Hill Inn but I wouldn't really consider it a real dive anymore either. At least it still looks like a 70's time warp.

I'd figure somewhere on Colfax, but I figure Colfax is getting more hipster-ized (?), so not sure. :-(

Don's at 6th and Pennsylvania. Pretty divey and pretty cheap drinks. It's mostly crowded with 20 to 30-something hipsters on the weekends though.

First off, you have to go to the suburbs, as most places within the city (at least the urban parts) will be too hipsterized. Real people live in the suburbs.

I think what is now known as the Full House Bar in Englewood is a pretty good candidate. I don't remember what it was called before (the name change is fairly recent), but it was a hole, the food was hospital quality, and everyone there gets either trashed, stoned, or confronted (or all three).

I recently had a great time at Cheers in Northglenn. Place felt really crappy at first (even thought of walking out), but the food is good, and it feels like a community in there. I really want to go back.

I will once again mention that Milo's at Evans/Monaco is the worst any kind of bar in metro Denver.

Try Bar Bar in downtown Denver. Just read the reviews on Yelp!
