No doubt it is, but usually the biggest badasses on the mountain are the dirtbags.

We moved here 5 months ago and have been to Loveland 3 times so far. Kids haven't skiied before so we are only going to Loveland this season. We hired their skis from Sports Authority and their season pass was $100 (skis $100 for the season). The lines are great there and we get there early and leave early so not to be caught up in the traffic on I-70.

I haven't gone skiing in a while but my favorite was A-Basin. Easy to get to and with some of the best views from the top of the mountain. I grew up in NJ so my concept of mountains was a bit different than here in Colorado. I'd get off the lift and would have to stop and take in the amazing views before heading down the mtn. Also less expensive than the big name resorts.

A-Basin is great, you can literally park and be at the lift in 5 min.

My only warning is for noobs driving through Loveland Pass can be scary and you should definitely have snow tires.

Yasssss!!! Went up last week and that is terrifying! And I'm from Buffalo and can drive in the snow. A basin was great though, loved the vibe. Not for beginners though, seemed a lot steeper than other places. Or maybe that's just me

How about if you're in Denver and you're looking for a nice getaway--not just a day trip but maybe an overnight stay in a nice hotel/lodge, luxuriate? Suggestions?
