Hi there! I was hoping to get some information about cycling in Cherry Creek State Park. I'd like to take my road bike out this weekend and I saw some routes on mapmyride that go from the tech center through the park. When I visited the park years ago by car, you had to pay for access. Will I have to do that with my bike or can I just ride through portions of it without a pass?

BTW - I'm looking for a ride where I can get in 20 miles or so at a decent pace (not out for a leisurely ride), so if the park is packed with strollers or walkers, it's probably something I'd rather avoid. Also - if you know of any good riding groups please feel free to let me know. I'm new to the area and any information you can give would be greatly appreciated

My husband rides there on the weekends and he claims the paths in the park aren't congested and you can go at a good pace. He takes the Piney Creek trail in from the east and there is no charge.

There is a group that rides through the park in the mornings and then heads west to the DTC. I see them mostly on Fridays riding in a large group as they leave and ride west on Union Ave at about 7 am.
