Is this legal?

Please tell me you didn't sign a contract without seeing the place.

First of all, take a deep breath and slow down. Posting twice within 15 minutes isn't going to make you any friends.

I'm not sure I understand what is going on. You signed a lease and paid security deposit to rent an apartment sight unseen because "there were tenants living there"? And now what? Have you finally seen the apartment and decided you made a mistake?

Please clarify.

My bf did... I wasn't there at the time. I just moved in without signing or app and they're now telling me to fill out an app for the apts... But yes he signed the lease. And now i refuse to sign the lease but if I don't I have to leave the apt every 6 days for the night.. This place is horrible so much was wrong when we moved in. We moved in April 24th. Idk what to do.. It's stressing me out so bad.

Your bf signed the lease, so I can't see anything illegal there. Stupid, maybe, but not illegal. And, yes, the landlord has every right to make you fill out an application if you are going to live there.

What does the lease say about the condition of the apartment? Are they supposed to deliver to you in clean condition?

If there are truly habitability issues, you can call the City and County of Denver. They have a housing code that may help you out. Call 311 for more information.

Boyfriend made the mistake, walk away if the apartment is that bad and let him suffer the consequences. Your original post says to me you are looking for the government to bail you out of a bad situation of your boyfriend's creation. Accept responsibility for his rash and stupid actions. Who rents a place without seeing it?
