I am planning to visit the city in early September to look for apartments. I want to know how long
[should I figure on staying in a hotel. What is your best guess? Is 2 weeks enough time? A month is too much for me.
My price range is $1100--1350 a month for about 900 or more square feet. and I am only
interested in brick buildings. Thanks to an earlier question on this topic, I found several of them
in the city and near Aurora. I am not particular about the neighborhood.

Thank you.

900 sq ft + is going to most likely be 2br. Most 1br top out at 800-850 sq ft, at most. And $1350 for a 2br is at the low end of the range.

You'll want to be here about 50-60 days before you move in. Much longer than that, most apartments won't know availability. If you plan ahead, get a list of 10-15 places you'd like to look at then set up appointments. We knocked out 12 places in 2 days. 2 weeks would be overkill. I'd say an extended 3-4 day weekend would be more than enough.

Good luck, we're full.... literally!

If you don't believe me head on over to any apartment finder/aggregator website and search all listings in "Denver, CO" and you will see literally page after page after page of "no vacancy" and "no availability". Whole area is over-priced to boot, I been here well over 25 years and I'm planning my move-out to a cheaper state for either August or September. For the high prices they charge here you'd think these old, creaky 70's-era apartment buildings were made of gold or something

I wish you luck, your best option may be a private "roommates" arrangement off of Craigslist or social media. Most apartment complexes are full due to large influx of out-of-towners in the last few years.

That's true for units under about $1,200, but if you go above that, you can find endless amounts of new units for $1,600+, at least within the city of Denver...but that is going to be more like 550-650 SF.

That's because

A) Average working folks generally can't afford $1,600+ rent unless they cram a bunch of roommates into the unit

and

B) 550-650 Sq ft x $1600/month for an apartment?!? You're better off getting a mortgage and an actually decent sized (1000 sq ft or more) detached house instead at that price-range

Clearly you have NO IDEA of how much houses are going for in Denver...

I already know that the market is very tight.

I also know that some apartments are available now and
next month and September because sales agents told me.

They also said that renters take them sight unseen off the
computer. I won't do this, ever.
Persistence matters.

Is the "brick" requirement for the soundproofing?
