We may not get it as often, but we definitely know what it is. It's not powdered laundry detergent-like every time. Occasionally it weighs what feels like 30 lbs on the shovel, and turns into ice cubes when you push it forward. Or it's disgustingly wet and you sink into big wet nasty puddles with every step you take.

Your two years in DENVER (I said CO, not Denver) is a drop in the bucket. That thing about "It snows one day and melts the next" simply is false. Sometimes it does, and often it doesn't.

I remember a couple of drought winters in which we barely had any snow. But they were not typical.

It snowed a lot when I lived there. I will make a bet with you that my 4 feet of snow will weigh much more than your 4 feet of snow. 25 years is a long time.
