Young couple trying to decide where to go next week to celebrate St. Patrick's Day. Last year my husband & I went to the Irish Rover and it was pretty fun, I like their rooftop area. They didn't have live music but the stuff the DJ played was good.

Still, I want to know what other Denverites would recommend. I'm looking for something nearish to me (Capitol Hill) and with plenty of craic agus ceol! What are your favorites? Where have you gone in the past, or what are your plans for this year?

It was my first week in Denver last year on St. Patrick's Day. In all honesty, I would stay the hell out of LoDo after the parade. A lot of people get drunk fast and get weird pretty quick. This year I'm probably keeping it to South Broadway as I don't want to deal with inflated Uber costs, bike theft, fights etc. Irish Rover is calling my name!

Here is the Denver Post recommendations for parties/bars & parade deltails. Green beer is here: Denver St. Patrick's Day parties, celebrations in 2017

I haven't spent time in Lodo on St. Patrick's Day since before I had kids, so pushing 10 years, but if it's at all the similar to back then I whole heartedly second the above recommendation to stay clear because it was a complete s**t show even back then.

Welp, suffice to say I did end up in downtown yesterday afternoon. It was way more tame than I expected. Herb's was chill, but Star Bar was packed with loud idiots.
