Yes, but in the last five or so years housing costs have really escalated. Don't know if the pot thing has anything to do with it. LOL!

I'm sure it helps, but Denver has a lot to offer. I'm excited.

Lots to offer like horrible traffic and a rising crime problem.

Colorado is an AWESOME bargain for someone who has equity in a higher COL area.

What I sold in CA:
750 sq ft house
6,000 sq ft lot
niceish area but nothing fancy

What I bought in CO *for less than I sold my CA house:
5000 sq ft house
7 acre horse property
upscale neighborhood

Weather here is wonderful. Income tax is lower. Property tax is lower. People are wonderful. There are plenty of outdoor activities. The airport is nice (which I need for work). It's a no-brainer.

All relative to where you are from.

Coming from coastal areas, people think Colorado is paradise. Lower COL, sunbelt weather, outdoor rec, lower taxes, pot, beer, etc.

Having been born here and lived here for most of my life, I have a different view. Dont get me wrong, some things are awesome---mainly the weather and natural beauty. But many things are bad and getting worse---traffic, crime (I dont care what the city of Denver stats say), population density, cutthroat business practices, crowds on just about every trail and lake within 2 hours of Denver, and the influx of scuz legalization has brought.

So, as they say, it's all relative. I think the reasons why we are seeing such rapid growth are industry (tech, pot, commercial opportunity), weather, the perception of an outdoor mecca, and Denver has that general "it" factor right now.
