Thanks, encouraging to hear! Out here in the burbs, it just feels kind of isolating somehow. Just kind of seeing people in the city walking around out and about, and having more opportunities to interact with people lessens that feeling of isolation and stagnation a bit. It's got life and energy. If we go out to eat, there's no real scene, vibe, sense of community, or energy here. It's just eat at the mall chain restaurant then go home and watch tv or a movie. Boooo. Not much else to do here besides shopping at the mall and movies.

Good to hear about East. Thanks!

I forgot to address that part of your post - I am in Stapleton so that's kind of a cross between the suburbs and the city. Depending on the specific location within the very large Stapleton neighborhood, some areas do have actual walkability to stores, restaurants, etc. A lot is more semi-suburban, but still with the benefit of a location very near all of Denver's amenities. So I definitely get the idea of urban living and I absolutely say to go for it. I've got a middle schooler and this location, the size of the house, plus the green space and all the other kids around make it a good fit but I expect to eventually in up in a more urban condo when I downsize.

Yes these suburban places can be good when you have kids for all the obvious reasons like space and other kids. In our case, now that they're older and we have so much more time on our hands, we'd like a more adult oriented life with theater, music, restaurants, bars, and hopefully regain a fun social life with like minded people who enjoy getting out a bit on the town!

If you're looking for the old big trees, and homes with more character Stapleton may not be a good fit.

I just googled it. Looks like a nice enough place but still somewhat more a suburb. We'd rather live right in the city if we make the move.

Are there neighborhoods in the East boundary that are more likely to have a higher % of kids? Perhaps those with strong Elementary schools? I ask because we loved some of Denver's city neighborhoods when visiting in the past and now we have a potential relocation to Denver. My daughter enters High School in a year and so we need to consider that but I'd love to be in the city rather than the burbs too. Good luck!

Agree that Stapleton isn't the right choice if you want true urban living. Oh, there are a few limited areas within Stapleton that are a pretty good approximation but it's really more of a residential area, like most Denver neighborhoods, actually.
