I was thinking the same thing.

The trees are budding and the grass is greening up. I love this time of year.

So I was looking at this today: https://www.wcc.nrcs.usda.gov/ftpref...pdate_snow.pdf

I'm a little bewildered, and hopefully somebody can explain this to me--the map shows a statewide average of 31%. I'm showing eight basins for Colorado, and if you get all the percentages together, it's 555%, divide by 8, wouldn't it be a statewide average of 69%? Is there something I'm not understanding?

Bigger question is how the South Platte Basin is at 400%.

Couple things....

The percentage for the South Platte Basin seems off.

Second, and more importantly, your math’s assumption is that each Basin is contributing an equal amount to the state’s snowpack. That’s definitely not the case.
