The Plimoth is nice; small intimate.

Love seeing Bittersweet still on this list. It’s so good and never crowded.

I'll have to give it a try.

The only one I know is Sushi Den. The wife and I need to escape the bubble once in a while.

Are the majority of these really new places, or just the editors thinking a lot more creatively? I ask because I only recognize 2-3 of these places and don't see any of the usual suspects on the list. Granted, we moved away 2 years ago, but are the long time favorites from the past 5-10 years falling by the wayside now?

Chipotle is still here.

Three of them are in your old 'hood - 2 in the new Eastbridge Town Center and one at The Stanley.

I think they were trying to highlight new places, though.

A fast-casual Italian joint serving fine-dining-worthy fare. A penthouse dazzler. A first-time offering in Aurora from a New York transplant. As this year’s list of best restaurants reflects, the metro area’s dining scene is changing in exciting ways: defying neighborhood boundaries, expanding the definition of a top-tier experience, and even challenging the idea of what a restaurant is and can be. Seven of the spots below have opened in the past 12 months, and they’re here because, like the stalwarts, each delivers delicious food, thoughtful hospitality, and comfortable surroundings, day in and day out. Whether old guard or new, helmed by a local chef or an import, white-tablecloth or counter-service, these 25 eateries are rising to the challenge of meeting—and exceeding—the evolving expectations of hungry Coloradans.

Quit....everywhere we've lived gets awesome restaurants and stores after we've moved away. Our house was very close to Stanley, and whenever we'd walk by and have those prairie dogs bark at us, my husband would look at that building and say "they should really develop this, it has so much potential". And the idea of another Town Center so as to avoid that awful King Soopers.....I can only dream of how nice it is now, LOL.

I balance that with the fact I now live somewhere where I can drive 5 minutes away and buy shrimp that just came off a boat. Gotta look at the positives.

The new KS is lovely! It's a little bitty place, so the selection is more limited but they have the main things. It can still get crowded right at 5 pm but when you go during the off hours, it's so pleasant.

I've heard the Quebec St branch is better now too, since some of the congestion as lifted but I haven't bothered to check it out! lol!

You guys have been gone longer than I realized though, The Stanley's been in construction and then open for a while now!

I have to admit, I'm not enough of a foodie to appreciate the new restaurants, but I'm still glad to have them. We're still waiting for our branch of Little Man Ice Cream though - that's going to be in Eastbridge but it's taking a while.

eta: But I'm jealous of the fresh shrimp!
