Blinking traffic lights... a splendid idea from 10pm - 7 AM. Commercial drivers appreciate this!
As someone who lives in Phoenix and is in Denver often, some of your observations are true. Phoenix=crowded? Not yet--too sprawled out to feel crowded. One of the most crowded places I've ever almost moved to is Orange County, CA. So crowded I turned down a good job offer there.

Denver's smog is 80% better than it was in 1979. Back then the horizon was a deep brown in the morning, dissipating as the air warmed up and inversion lifted.

Phoenix air quality still needs improvement--most needed is particulate matter reduction. Get rid of those useless fireplaces for starters.

I have never seen a steady green light and at the SAME TIME a blinking left turn yellow light at any intersection in Phoenix. PROVE me wrong! However, there is one in Aurora at corner of Colfax/ Airport Blvd.

I don't know about the city of Phoenix, but Chandler certainly has them. There is one on southbound Cooper at Germann, just to give one example.

The thread is officially off subject now!
