Don't ride through weed fumes!

I notice it too, I moved here from living in FL almost all of my life. Moving out here to 5k+ above sea level it took a solid couple of months to be "normal" with breathing. Still, when I go up in the mountains at 9k ft or so I can feel it quite a bit and need to take a lot of breaks to catch my breath.

I was in Denver for a over a year and a half, spend my whole life at sea level until the move. I definitely felt it - especially when low pressure systems would move through. Major pressure headaches and sleeping problems to boot.

I've been back in town a week now and going skiing tomorrow. Fortunately, there's no challenging terrain open yet, so we'll ease the legs and lungs back into it slowly.

Survived ski day yesterday :-) Not much terrain open, but what was open was good until noon, after which it was skied off as it was surprisingly crowded for a Monday.

Hmmm. I wonder if you are referring to me. If the shoe fits, right?

I'm into my 5th year here now (at 7700 ft) and you're right, I love it!

Research indicates that de-acclimatization in long-term, high-altitude residents may happen in as few as ten days at sea level. That was a surprise to me. It's a lot faster than I expected.
