Where is the best place to watch the sunset & moonrise in Denver. We're not against driving a little bit to get out of downtown. I'm wanting to be able to see the mountains

Well, I could be a smarta** and say "in the sky." Or perhaps "on my front porch." But that's the reality, there are beautiful views of the sunset pretty much much all over the place, anywhere you are facing east and have a view of the mountains.

For sunset the "fainting goat" rooftop bar was always a good time. Miss that place!

NZ is GREAT for 10 pm winter sunsets. (during a CO winter)
especially If you are under age 31 (12 month renewable working visa).
http://www.doc.govt.nz/parks-and-rec...-porpoise-bay/

For Front Range CO... need to be AWAY from cities / lights, yet with silhouette of Mtns

Rockport, CO is nice place for Sunset! Maybe Elbert. (between COS and Denver)

Much of NE COS is pretty nice for Sunset (overlooking USAFA)

Dude asked where in Denver to look for sunsets and is willing to drive a little out of downtown so you suggest he gets a work visa and moves to New Zealand???

I don't know if it's a little too far south of Denver for you, but Daniels Park (Castle Pines area) has an amazing sunset view!! You really see the layers of the mountains that make up the entire Front Range from here.

Come a little early and stop by the buffalo herd on your way in.

I hear the Lodos in Highlands Ranch has some pretty great sunsets if you sit upstairs.

If you are up for a day hike, Boulder' Bear Peak south of the Flatirons is pretty spectacular, Continental divide sunsets and amazing front range sunrises.
