I have not yet found one that I like. Thus far I have used Realtor.comand Yahoo. Are there any local web sites that show MLS listings? Thank you.

go to maps.google.com and click on the tab My Maps, then use the real estate tool.
realtor.com is good because it shows everything.
There's a tool I use for Huntsville, ValleyMLS.com which allows someone to find homes around a particular elementary, middle or high school. A lot of people might like that.

I highly recommend Trulia.com and Zillow.com to check out comparables as well.

Good luck shopping!

The official MLS website is REcolorado.com - brought to you by Metrolist Inc. for the whole state. You can get all the correct information without giving out your personal information. Many of the other websites, that have real estate information, are provided by real estate agents and give you limited information and/or infomation only about their listings and/or hold back full information until you make a contact with them.

Recolorado.com is quick and easy, but pretty limited.

At Cohomefinder.com, you can search by basically anything...school name, subdivision, street name, and then quickly find the first 50 homes nearby a listing. You can sort by any number of criteria (ie. price, bedrooms) I also like that I can find the last 100 listings in any town. I can also save them to refer back to later. I agree that having to sign up to use the site is not my favorite, but I consider it well worth it for the value of the search tools. I have had a little contact from the agent, but wouldn't consider it pushy.

I will also use Realtor.com to view additional pictures of homes because the recolorado.com only displays a few and most agents will market the listing with additional photos on realtor.com. The map is also better there than on recolorado.com. However, I've found that recolorado is the easiest site to use with a subdivision listing.

Ok, I could go on and on. I wish that there was one site that could do it ALL, but I think it's more of a combination of them. Especially if you're like me and like to do a lot of research on your own prior to contacting an agent for help.

I still like Realtor.com because of the huge listings compared to the others that I have seen. I also like their search category system.
