I’m moving to Denver by the end of the month and I have not found ONE apartment complex that’ll let me bring my lab/German Shepherd mix. He is 6 years old and he’s used to living with other dogs (young and old) and having lots of people around. Does anyone know of any apartments or even homes to rent that’ll allow him to come with me?? I’m looking in Lakewood area, but if it’s in a good area then I’m open to living anywhere with a 30 min drive from Denver. My price range is about $1300. Thanks!

You'll get some advice from our regulars but in the mean time I suggest a "housing wanted" ad on craigslist where you tell readers what you seek and why you'd be a good tenant.

Try hotpads.com. Select your price range, area and number of bedrooms. Click search and then it will allow you to select pet friendly places.

A lot of "dog friendly" places will restrict size/ breed. We rented @ Stapleton Apartments while house hunting, and they allowed our 2 giant dogs, one of whom was a German Shepherd mix. I think the cheapest you can get there is around 1500/ mo, though. They had a fenced dog play area right by our apartment, and a huge dog park that we could walk to.

They do short term rentals... might be something to consider while you look for a more permanent spot.

my place is dog friendly and usually goes around 1250 a month. this is in cap hill. it's one bedroom and 550 sf though.

so the question is. how many bedrooms/baths are you lookin for? more than 1 bed... good luck!

keep looking, you'll find something!

I stayed in BelMar with 2 dogs:

Your price ceiling is a bit of a problem though, they charge a monthly pet fee like most.
