This will change the character of the street significantly. There is a very high likelihood this project comes to fruition.

“Oh, somewhere in this favored land the sun is shining bright;
The band is playing somewhere, and somewhere hearts are light,
And somewhere men are laughing, and somewhere children shout;
But there is no joy in Mudville”

It's progress. The restaurant has the option to open in the new building. Everyone talks about gentrification and character of the building. What about someone willing to invest and rejuvenate the area. No one talks about the future only about the past. Why are we so backward looking in Denver. Change in a city is constant, its a sign of a growing and prosperity. I am glad that someone wants to improve the infrastructure in our city. Everything in life is temporary.

Back in the 1960s, many of the beautiful, historic brick buildings in the LODO area were demolished to make way for ugly parking lots and buildings that today, lack character. Thankfully, many buildings were spared and give downtown much of its character today.

"Progress" is not always a good thing.

I’m not saying it will be 100% bad. I’ve heard the developer is one who does things right. It’s just a major change for the block.

It’s been an odd part of town for awhile. I used to live nearby and always hoped they would “fix it up.” The storefronts to the east are a hodgepodge and look blighted. The area really seems dated and not in a good way. The Bonnie Brae tavern is neat, but really not in significant way. I think it’s about time.

Yeah. I don’t think it’s terrible. It’s just going to be a change for the block and a lot of new residents. I hope it doesn’t ruin parking for the ice cream store across the street.

There used to be a great little eat in or take out Italian place called Cucina Leone across the street from the BB tavern. Loved that place.

We lived 100 meters from it.
We loved it.
Great bread.
Sad when it died and became a spa.

It became an electronics store before it was a salon. I think it was called The Big Picture.
