Response from my friends in California and Nevada were pretty spot on and predictable: Why can't you just buy wine or liquor in the supermarket? Are they closing too?

Maybe we'll join the modern world and get realistic regulations in the near future.

I found this whole thing amusing. As if people couldn't go to any of the cities that surround Denver for anything they consider necessary to get through the next few weeks. I know many people who aren't remotely addicted to either who still consider it more relaxing to be able to partake of their preferred legal self-medication and that's without being in the midst of a pandemic and stuck in the house all day long without a break

Necessity? No of course not, but then again, it's not like they are giving us military MREs instead of the foods of our choice whether that's from a supermarket or restaurant. So apparently "necessity" has a pretty loose definition at this point

Stop assuming things. Just because others enjoy alcohol and/or weed doesn’t mean they are drunks or drug addicts

Sounds like you need a bit of both to relax

With a statement like that, you need to look in the mirror.

That makes a lot more sense to me than to stand in a line, in close proximity to other, and risk your health for your fix.

Baby steps....first step was Sun. sales.

The liquor store lobby faught long and hard to keep 3.2 beer in convenience stores and grocery stores- that was finally taken care of with the next step.

Eventually by 2037 grocery stores will be able to sell liquor too under current CO. liquor guidelines.

No way would all of this of passed in one big package- glad the politicians actually got something done about our archaic liquor laws.

Well, since potential alcoholics make up no more than about 10% of the population, and probably half of them don't drive due to being too young or too old or whatever, and since alcoholics are not necessarily D.U.I. getting drunk drivers, the answer must be raised to the power of π.

I jest. Being sober for three weeks is no problem for me (and I assume most people). But being sober for three weeks of in-home isolation? I (and I assume most people) would rather not.

Denver, the most progressive in Marijuana laws in the country doesn't permit the sell of liquor at 7/11 and WalMart, what the???

Here in San Diego, even the dispensaries down the street from my house still appear to be open.
