Hypocrisy is rampant nationwide, nothing unique to Denver.

i dont think i would do this but it could work:

I noticed a small Denver auto shop on SantaFe in selling an electric 3 wheel car; The Solo.
reference = electrameccanica.com
it could seat 3 peeps, low speed and short range
but
you could mount a roof top solar array to charge the thing and drive for free

if you are retired and or have a work home employ, live in Denver urban area, this EV could make you all green again w/o a lot of hypocrisy. Well maybe a little.

Which roof? The one on your house, or the car?

If the house, a mainstream EV will be just fine today. Of course the catch is that this only works for people who have a vehicle frequently parked at their house during peak sunlight hours.

No such thing as a solar panel for a car roof that will charge the battery- it may allow you to use accessories in the car and that is about it. Tesla tried it and gave up:

Sure, I realize that... at least not for anything I would call a car.

I didn't visit the website to see what this 3-wheeled vehicle looks like. For something that's little more than a bicycle it might be possible to charge enough for short trips. This sort of thing doesn't interest me, so I've never looked into it. Either give me a car that I can use on the street, or a bicycle that I can use on paths.

roof of a house
just on this micro EV the battery is under the back seat. The seat flips up and one could quick disconnect re connect a new charged battery pack before leaving the house.

a micro EV would be functional on urban streets.
