Happy Weekend! I’m going to start looking for help with a few projects hoping to get an idea of wait times for contractors, recommendations, and ballpark estimates.
These are the tasks:
•Wood floors refinished, oak, 1200 sq ft
•Laminate flooring in kitchen removed and tiled
•Ceilings and walls painted
•New Windows installed (total 10)
Thank you! I wanted to check here first before posting on Thumbtack since the projects are 2 months out. Location just 15 min west of Denver.
Feel free to share any stories, I’d also love to know what to watch out for!

NextDoor is the place to start.
Contractors are booked way out now. I had a garage cabinet contractor tell me in September: "booked thru November".
Yelp is also good.

Price is not important.
Contractor quality is all important.
Do not pay in advance. If they stiff you, you have no recourse except small claims court. If you stiff them, they just put a mechanics' lien on your house.

My personal list is:
Floors - Brian Jorgensen at https://independenthardwoodfloor.com
Painting - ReggieJLong@Yahoo.com

There is lot to be said for hiring a general contractor. Yes, it will cost you money, but remove a lot of potential pain. I can recommend: Tom Owens at Creative Remodeling, Inc. | Residential Home Remodeling in Denver Metro

Not a fan of Thumbtack. But, HomeAdvisor/AngiesList is horrible.
