My husband will be taking a job in the Englewood area. We are moving from Alabama (though this is our 4th state in 6 years, so we are not newbies to relocating!). When doing a quick search, Littleton comes up as a possible area of interest, as well as the Centennial area. Would those be nearby?

We are a younger family of 4. Our children are 3 and 6 (the oldest is in public school). Excellent schools are KEY and most important to us. We will not be buying a home anytime soon for various reasons. Our rent budget is max $3000k/month... I hope that will get us something decent, as I know the Denver area is much more expensive than Birmingham. We want a single family home and need 3 bedrooms min. Prefer an area that has sidewalks and plenty to do with kids (parks, museums, play places, etc).

What are your suggestions?

Where is his work location? Physical address, not postal. The Englewood post code is too large to be meaningful.

So, not really Englewood.
Thank you.

Search for the best ELEMENTARY schools and then buy a house within the desired school catchment.

Hunters Hill, Walnut Hills, Willow Creek, and most of Homestead are in Cherry Creek School District. Acres Green is in Douglas County School District. I believe Fox Ridge and Homestead II kids attend Littleton Public Schools. Keep in mind, though, that Colorado allows open enrollment, so you are not limited to your neighborhood elementary. Your spouse's commute would be ten minutes or so. If you don't find anything suitable in those neighborhoods, I would then look a little farther west in Highlands Ranch, which is another very nice area for young families, just a bit longer of a commute.
I worked in Inverness. These are good suggestions.

I live in Parker and commute to Inverness area. 15-20 minutes in good traffic. Great town for families.
