From Google's areal photos, it looks like the County Line Rd. station parking lot is on the east side of I25 and there's a bridge over the highway to the train platform on the west side (mere yards from the mall's parking lot). But there doesn't appear to be a pedestrian friendly way to get between the mall and the train platform. Is this true or am I not seeing something?

Right now, there's no easy way to get from light rail to Park Meadows. Apparently, mall owners at first didn't want light rail patrons to have access to the mall (you know, keep the riffriff out and all that). However, they changed course and there will be a pedestrian access constructed (eventually). I forget the date, but it's quite a ways into the future. RTD and the mall have partnered on a shuttle bus to take patrons to to the light rail stop, but I'm not sure that's still going on.

There is a free shuttle - you just call and it will take you.

In today's news: Park Meadows and RTD finally got their pedestrian bridge done, meaning that shoppers can now reasonably take light rail to shop. Other than shopping areas downtown, this is one of the few shopping malls to now be conveniently connected to transit, which is a great boon for those who seek a car-free lifestyle.

Kudos to Park Meadows for the foresight to do this. It seems like only a few short years ago that the retrograde former management of the mall wanted no part of RTD or transit, even hinting publicly that transit users weren't exactly in their target market for the mall. (Though, more likely, their main worry was that commuters would use the mall's parking lots as a giant park-n-ride). Give credit where credit is due, however -- Park Meadows under new oversight is now looking ahead to the future.

Wow, they actually finished it. Has anyone had a chance to use it yet? I read some confusing things about this bridge... One is that they are posting a security guard at the gate, and the other is that the gate will have a locked turnstile that requires a ticket (obtainable from somewhere inside the mall) to get back in.

The ticket thing sounds like it could be a problem (what if you didn't know and the mall was closed?).. I do appreciate Park Meadows not wanting people to use their parking lot as a PnR, but at the same time, I hope that it is possible to use that bridge to access other things on the west side of I-25 (Costco, Best Buy, etc)... even though getting anywhere in that area as a pedestrian is kind of scary anyway... :-)

on the other side of I-25 - there appears to be a Residence Inn right next door to the Park N Ride on South Valley Highway. Is this an ok area to stay? Does the RI have easy access to the County Line Station? thanks!
