The office where I will be working is in 80202. Since I haven't yet leased my home out in AZ, I will have two payments. I'd like to lease a studio or 1 bedroom apt that's no more than a 20 minute commut for around $1000 per month that is safe and modern. Where would you recommend?

80202 is right downtown. You will likely never find such an apartment unfortunately ($1000 safe and modern). Sorry to disappoint.

How much would an apt cost that is safe and modern with nice shopping that is not too far of a commute? Where would you live?

If you are working downtown you should look at some of the apartments that are located along the light rail line. Most of them are newer in pretty safe areas. That being said I have no idea how much they cost.

According to Rent.com, Bank and Boston Lofts start at $1072/month. They are right downtown and you could walk to any job in 80202.

You could also look into west of I-70, to see if you can find something over there which would be a short walk / bike ride into 80202.

Cherry Creek is super nice / rich / upscale.

Depending on location, you can take Speer from Cherry Creek area straight to 80202. Distance is probably a few miles.

The Seasons is popular, I bet it will be around 1500 for a studio.
