livecontent,

I'm already back from my stay so I can't ask the concierge, but you did just give me enough information for me to think about moving into that neighborhood. Thank you so much!

By the way, is there a name for that neighborhood so I know what to look for when it comes to apartment hunting?

I am glad to help. This is the official neighborhood map of Denver
http://www.denvergov.org/denvermaps/downloads/maps/citywide/Neighborhoods.pdf (broken link)

You will see that the neighborhood in Denver that governs this area is the Hampden South neighborhood. However, most people would describe it as the DTC.

This is the zip code map of Denver http://www.denvergov.org/denvermaps/downloads/maps/citywide/Zipcodes.pdf (broken link)
which would put most of the Denver part of the DTC in 80237.

Greenwood Village adjoints this area and is part of the DTC. There are also parts in Aurora.

My sister lived in an Apartment complex in the middle of the DTC, many years ago. I thought it was interesting because on the weekends, the area had less traffic with all the manicured office land and roads. However, today it is more dense and has more condo developments. It is near to many restaurants but to me it lacks the walkable neighborhoods that are more close together. In addition, the local public transportation at night and weekends is not adequate for me to live a car free lifestyle, unless one lived immediately near the rail stations.
