Hi,
I have a relative who needs some dental work like fillings.
Last time we went to a local dentist for extraction and bill was pretty hefty with x-rays and everything.
Is there some budget friendly dentist office for uninsured cash patients or any good discount plan?
thank you

Look at the Comfort Dental website and their "Gold Plan". Also, I know for a fact you can negotiate with the dentist for a discount if you are uninsured and are paying cash (not with the front office staff, but with the dentist herself/himself). Good luck.

Dental insurance is nearly worthless in most cases. It's more a marketing plan than real insurance. If you know exactly what you need just call around a few places and be persistent to get an estimate on the work. At first they will always say oh the Dentist needs to see it, but if you say I already saw one and have a quote and think their price is ridiculous they may just quote you something.

No matter what prices are getting pretty ridiculous. My friend and his girlfriend went to Cancun in December and got some extensive stuff done. His 6-day vacation cost a little over $1000. His dental bill was $550, he was quoted $1780 by his dentist for it. So yeah, he literally paid for his vacation with the savings.
