My son will be a freshman next year. Our home high school is Eaglecrest and I hear good things about the school and overall wouldn’t mind him going but I am concerned they are way overpopulated with kids. Last I checked, they have about 3,200 students. I would hate for my kid to be lost in a sea of kids and not get what he needs academically.

I am considering applying to choice into either Cherokee Trails or Grandview.

While I noticed Grandview and Trails are pretty crowded too, they seem to have better state/performance data when it comes to performing at grade level and being prepared for college.

I am looking for parent feedback who has sent their kids to either Eaglecrest, a Cherokee Trails or Grandview in the last few years so I can get some insight besides just state test score data.

TIA

All three of those schools have large student bodies (~3000 students). It's just the reality of public schools here. In order of academics it's Grandview, Cherokee Trail, Eaglecrest in that order.

All 3 of my kids attended Cherokee Trail. The youngest graduates in May. I've got no complaints.

I teach at one of those schools, graduated from a different one, and know teachers and families at all three. Personally I would happily send my kid to any one of them.

If you already live in the area you really should just send your kid to the one their friends are going to.
