A friend and I are both starting at DU in the fall (myself for International Development, she for Sociology) and we are searching for a place. We are going to get a dog (medium to large), so dog-friendly is a must. We're trying to be within walking or biking distance to campus as well and are not looking to pay more than $1200 total/month. We would prefer to be in a small house, but would be open to a nice apartment. Is this possible?

We've tried Craiglist, rent.com, apartments.com, various random Denver real estate sites, as well as classified ads to no avail.

Does anyone out there have any suggestions as to where we might look? She's in Maryland and I'm in DC so we don't have the option of driving around the neighborhood and finding places that way.

I would think there is something in the area between Evans & 20th and Federal to Colorado...Most landlords do not start advertising until they get the 30 day notice.

90% of everything available is on Craigslist.

Here's something close to DU, $850 for house with yard (http://www.mydenverrentals.com/houses/2232sc.htm - broken link)
