All three of the cities you listed are great choices. I've been to Denver before and currently I live in Washington D.C. Comparing the two cities I would definitely have to say I prefer D.C. D.C. has so much more to offer, especially if want that cultural experience. No offense but if you're into the mountains and outdoors then Denver is for you, but if you want diversity than come to DC. Some call it a dull city, because they live out in the suburbs, but when you go into DC you get world class dining, entertainment, the best museum system in the world(Smithsonian), and a very clean, heavily used mass transit system. Now granted, traffic is horrible at rush hours unless you commute outside of downtown for work. If you're worried about the lack of outdoor activities there are 100's of miles of bike trails throughout the city. You can even ride up to Pennsylvania without ever having to worry about a car. This city is really fitness oriented with biking and running. Also you have the beaches within a 3 hour drive, and mountains to the west. Only problem I have so far is the lack of snow.

I don't know about Seattle, but I have a friend that is from there, and so far he said he isn't impressed with DC yet.
