The title says all. Where they at people?

I'm living downtown Denver, just moved here about 7 months ago now. I love it! I made friends with climbers, people at work, met girls, I've been snowboarding the past 3 weekends, and its great! But there's one thing i'm lacking. And that's the live music scene! I play guitar and all sorts of instruments, and I have this hole in my heart that only jamming out can fill.

I feel that rundown dive bars that play live jammy music is a good place to start. Unless you guys have other reccomendations.

I've been to this site and you guys told me to go for it and move here! And boy I am sure glad that I did, but I REALLY need to find the musical people that my heart craves.

If you want a suburban biker bar that plays "the classics", I know of a place...

Ziggies Calendar

or Herb's over on Larimer (BallPark) > http://www.denver.com/articles/denve...open-mics.html

Also, grab a copy of WestWord and peruse the pages for open mic or jam nights.

If by "jammy music" you mean "Crunchy Grooves" ones not mentioned so far:
Cervantes (more of a venue)
Sanchos (more of a dive bar with occasional bands)
Quixotes (A dive bar with a semi-separate venue attached)

If that's not what you meant there's dozens of other divey venues/bars depending on your tastes, from DIY venues that play really out there stuff that's hard to define, to divey and not so divey jazz bars, to classic old school bars that play rockabilly or more traditional rock music, to places that play mostly indie or heavier rock, to places that play a lot of punk, etc. So let us know and it may help narrow it down.

I second Ziggie's. Less rundown is Lincoln's Roadhouse on Pearl. Good fried pickles though.

Sklyark Lounge can have some good stuff.
