We are having quite a family debate over what these things are. There are many of them out in the fields along the e470. Some of us think they are water tanks and others antennae. What are they really?

Too funny! We saw them driving "home" from the airport and I told my daughter they had giants here in Colorado and they loved to play golf. The look on her face was priceless - not quite sure if Mommy was joking or not.

Yep radar for Buckley AFB. If you hang out up there enough you get a thrill from low flying F-16's which operate out of there.

There is also one at Front Range airport in Watkins, which provides weather radar for the region.

For a long time they were a government secret weren't they? It was only within the past decade or so that the secret got out.

I remember driving past those on my way from Ft. Collins to SE Denver to work every weekend in 1995-1996. Imagine doing that drive today with $4+ gasoline. Yikes.
