My husband's job is relocating our family out West. We can choose any city and state in the West to live, but have begun to focus our interest on the Denver, Colorado area. My husband will be traveling weekely, so we need to be near an airport. We have a toddler and therefore would like to be near family activities such as bike trails, zoo, library, park, etc. Our son is currently in a Musik Garten class and a soccer class both of which he greatly enjoys and therefore we would like to find similiar activities in our new location to keep things as normal for him as possible. An area with low crime and great schools is also of interest. We have looked at Colorado Springs and Denver, but don't know where to begin as to neighborhoods. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I located a Musik Garten class in both cities, but could not find a soccer class for children under three. Any advice would be great.

Our price range is $225,000 to $275,000. We have always lived in suburban areas, but would be open to an urban area that was family friendly if that was the best location overall for what we are looking for.

You might want to look at the Reunion development area of NE Denver (new part of Commerce City). I believe their website is ReunionCO.com It is new development that can fall in your price range and close to the airport. There are new schools that perform better than most Adams County schools. I used to travel every week and it becomes very beneficial if you are near Denver International. That doesn't give you a lot of choice for good neighborhoods, since the airport is a ways out. The new-urban style Stapleton neighborhood in Denver would be great too, but a single family house is quite expensive in this neighborhood. Many young families live in Stapleton and love how close it is to downtown and the airport.
