Hi everyone!

My husband and I will be relocating from Chicago to Denver by the end of the year. I'm a SAHM and we have 2 kids, 7 and 3. The office he'll be working is on 2000 Colorado Boulevard, and we're trying to find an area to live that will be close to his office. We also want somewhere that will be family friendly, and will be close to good shopping. We're renting for about 2 years or so until we figure out where we'd like to buy. I'm thinking between $1600 and $2000 for rent.

Can anyone recommend some good areas for us to check out?

TIA

Congress Park, Hilltop, South Park Hill would all be good choices and potentially walking distance to your job (or at least a very quick commute). Stapleton as mentioned would be a little further away, but also good. These tend to be expensive areas, but I think you could find a nice place in your rental budget.

All the areas mentioned are in the city of Denver. Denver's schools are a mixed bag, but the schools in the areas mentioned, including Stapleton, are quite good.

I would be willing to bet that the address is 2000 South Colorado Blvd. 2000 Colorado Blvd is completely residential.

Thanks, I'll look in the areas suggested. My preference is for neighborhoods that have a lot of character and history. Congress Park looks like it may fit the bill. We had a realtor take us to a few homes in Westminster, Thornton and Arvada, and they were o'kay. I think I'd rather be in the southern burbs though.

And yes, the address is 2000 S. Colorado Blvd....sorry.

I live in the south suburbs, zip code 80111. There are plenty of rentals near I-25 just south of us and also closer to Dry Creek, there are good Cherry Creek schools and preschools near us. The commute to Colorado Blvd. isn't too bad on I-25. Good luck!

2000 S colorado blvd is right on top of a light rail station, so an I25 commute isn't necessary if you plan it right.

So I bet your husband is working at the colorado center? Yeah I would recommend somewhere south, Westminster, and Thornton is too far north to commute there. I live in Thornton, and I work like like 10 blocks north of where your husband will be working. And it takes me like 45-75 minutes to drive. Thank god my office will be moving soon. And yeah colorado center is conviniently served by the light rail. So if you find a good location along the light rail corrider, driving won't be necesarry (depending on your husbands type of job though)

Default Here is a help

If you mean 2000 South Colorado for his office, I say move to Lone Tree or Highlands Ranch take the light rail get off at Colorado his office will be about 3 blocks take the shuttle bus and you are there. You don't want him to fight traffic on I-25 every morning and evening. Our son lives in Highlands Ranch on South Quebec. E-Mail me and I will send you some info on where to call. He has a nice place. I will give you the number for the rental office of his place. Good Luck

University Hills would be walking distance. It's a neighborhood mostly of small ranch homes with some large newer homes mixed in. It's conveinient to shopping, has a great library and park with a pool. A nice family friendly area.

Since you were wanting historic, Platt Park and Washington Park are both a short drive away. They both have light rail access so your husband could still avoid the traffic on I-25.
