Can anyone recommend a vet to do this type of surgery?

We have had good experiences with similar issues with these folks:

VRCC - Veterinary Specialty & Emergency Hospital

Did your dog have surgery? My dog has a torn ACL, and I am looking for suggestions, recommendations, advice...

Our friends' dog just had surgery for a torn ACL. They went to Pets on Broadway. We go there too.

Default torn ACL

Personally, I will never recommend the VRCC. We took our dog there recently for leg surgery and they almost killed him with anesthesia. He had surgery with them in the past, but they chose to use different drugs this time and he had a bad reaction either to the wrong drugs or too much of them. It took weeks to nurse him back to health. Oh, and they charged us around $2000 for the experience.

They also ended up not fixing his leg.

In Colorado Springs: Colorado Canine Orthopedics: Veterinary Specialty of Colorado Springs

Where ever you go, make sure they do specialize in these things.
