We're currently in the "five year plan" to leave the Texas Hill Country and move closer to family, in Colorado.

We're looking for a Denver-area neighborhood that resembles, in part, the area where we currently are (with the addition of mountains, of course).

Something with lots of trees, and parks, and a few valley (hilly) areas leading to houses.

Something in the immediate Denver-area.

Is there such a neighborhood in Denver? If not, are there any areas fairly close to Denver that fit that description?

Thanks in advance!

1. Start near Carr and 68th in Arvada and move west.

2. Castle Pines

When I think of more hilly areas near Denver I think of Golden and maybe southwest Littleton and/or Highlands Ranch.

The area I'm moving to near Kipling and C470 is more hilly and like 10 feet away from the foothills

Trees is a different story though, basically every tree in the metro area is planted. Same with the lakes, there is not a single lake on the entire front range that is natural (before you get to the mountains)

Now there are plenty of trees in the metro area, but not like when you get in the foothills/mountains

Louisville is hilly, with lots of trees. As said, none of them "natural".

You can't reproduce the Hill Country in Denver. If you're talking about neighborhoods on the east side of Austin up into the hills, you would have to be out in Golden/Boulder to find anything close to that, which would put you into the foothills of the mountains and not that close to the urban areas of Denver. Denver itself is pretty flat, although like someone else said, Louisville is rather hilly (a suburb NW of Denver) and has great mountain views.

Western edge of the western suburbs: Arvada, Wheatridge, lakewood, Golden. The Applewood area comes to mind as possibly meeting your criteria.

The Pinery in Parker.

I sure hope you've been to Denver in the winter. It is very brown and you may be disappointed. Don't forget that Denver's climate is "semi arid".

Not really very hilly, but I'd suggest you check out a large area east of Broadway and south of I-70. Plenty of trees, plenty of green, plenty of parks, and maybe a few hills here and there.

Not many trees, but this is southwest Littleton where I'm moving in a few weeks

Then a like 1 minute drive to behind the hogback and in the foothills
