It's La Keen---TAH. This brings up another common mispronunciation....Chipotle restaurant chain...everyone says "Chi---PUL---TAY"....the correct pronunciation is Chi---POT---LAY.

The T comes before the L, I don't know why so many people get that one wrong. I hear it all the time around here pronounced incorrectly.

Well, to be absolutely correct, it's "Chi-pote-lay" but for some reason I don't really care how folks mangle that name as much as I do mispronouncing our state name.

BTW, in the poll on the first page, the number of people pronouncing our state correctly has finally edged past those who are pronouncing it wrong. Finally.
