How would you describe Denver culture? How do people act? What is important to people here? How does society operate in this city? How is it different or similar to other places? What is special about it?

I could care less about the Broncos or football. To me, the people in Denver (the city itsefl) seem similar to SoCal culture, if there is such a thing. I don't think there is any cultur shock for people moving here, unless you come from the rural south, or anywhere rural. People tend to be fit, into outdoor activities, social, and where I live, appreciate the cultural ammenities of the city.

depends what part of town really...downtown, aurora, littleton, Westminister, golden etc.

there is not one "culture" per say. And like they said above has to do with what you like to do really.

overall its very...yuppisque with a touch of nature loving outdoorsey, cowpokes and cali transplants...

its not the place I remember from my childhood thats for sure...

Denver's very laid back and friendly. It's hard to impress people in Denver because most people do not care and a tee shirt and jeans will suffice anywhere. I've never been treated rudely or unkindly in Denver or anywhere in Colorado for that matter.

I agree that Denver is very casual. You can dine in the finest restaurants in the city dressed in cargo shorts and hiking sandals. It seemed really weird to me when I lived there.

To me, it seems like Denver culture is all about the individual. Each person just does their own thing completely and everyone stays out of each others way. It's like the "rugged individualism" of the wild west is still alive here.

It's cool because you can just do whatever you want to pretty much. But it's not cool because it makes people act cold and distant to each other.

Just my observations.

Denver nothing like Southern California.
