Nothing has changed at all, other than having gotten a little more developed. Same exact people, same culture, same attitudes. Denver hasn't changed-- you're the one who has changed!

I recommend you live in Los Angeles, California.

okay LA? are you kidding me...I have a young FAMILY not SINGLE! And I went to Overland not Smoky Hill...different world.

I heard that this city is very friendly, huh? Where is this friendlyness at? That's the main thing that bothers me about this place. People here just look serious and unhappy a lot.

It seems like nobody likes to talk about these things or admit to them, it's strange. I don't understand why some people feel to need to avoid facing reality.

I am also not into winter sports. I'm not into going to restaurants all the time. I'm not into getting totally hammered all the time. I'm not into sports, etc.

I'm having a hard time really feeling this place. It has the same yuppieness as SoCal, without the awesome weather and fun vibe.

No place is perfect though. And trust me, there are a LOT of worse places than Denver in the USA. So if you move, choose wisely. The entire USA is going in a strange direction. I have seen a few other cities, that I remember as a child, change drastically for the worse.

I'm leaving this city soon though I can't wait to live in an interesting place once again.
I totally agree its turned into california 2! people just aren't genuine. It's said people use to be kind. This post was mainly a vent but I just can't take here anymore. I feel its ruined lol

We all have different likes and dislikes. Just because a person dislikes where they live, or dislikes certain aspects of where they live, that does not make them an unhappy person or a bad person.

On these forums, when people critisize Denver. A lot of you take it so personally, and respond really rudely, as if they personally attacked you. I think it's uncalled for. Why can't some of you take critisism?

These forums should have a lot more constructive critisism and serious issues being brought up in my opinion. Why not? Why are people always shot down for doing it?

Karianne,

From what you described, Denver seems to be the place you may be looking for (that is the reasons that other mentioned for moving here). I really do not understand the problems that you have described. Nonetheless, one should be where one loves to be at and therefore I can only wish you the best of luck and happiness to you and your family wherever you choose to move.

Affordable is relative. I wouldn't expect most 22 year olds to be able to afford the same lifestyle as people in their 30's or 40's. But that's not unique to Highlands Ranch or Colorado. By national standards, the Denver metro, including parts of Highlands Ranch, is quite affordable.

I just had to cut in here; if you think you're going to find a place where the economy is better that's highly unlikely right now. But you might see about looking for jobs in other areas to secure one before you move if that's what you want to do (it sounds like it).

Also, did something happen? You said "people are heartless". I was just curious.
