Hey all,
I'm currently in philly finishing up grad school and I have set my sights on Denver. This forum and all of you have been very helpful in helping me decide where I would fit in (philly is definitely not my scene).

Anyone know of cycling groups or good routes in the Denver area. I ride road on the UPenn cycling team now and can't wait to cycle in the beautiful denver area!

Yep, Denver/Boulder is a great place for cycling.

If you're looking for clubs, you my try Rocky Mountain Cycling Club: Colorado Bicycle Club - Denver, Golden, Boulder and the Colorado Front Range or www.usacycling.org -- USA Cycling Clubs.

For multi-day tours there's:

2009 Denver Post Ride The Rockies > Home

2009 Bicycle Tour of Colorado :: Bicycle Tour Colorado offers great bicycling vacation tours through the rockies. A real cycling adve

Just to name a few.

And if you don't feel like fighting traffic there's always the Platte River or Cherry Creek bike trails Denver Bike Trails .

Enjoy

There's a number of groups that organize rides on Do something, Learn something, Share something, Change something - Meetup.com

But besides that, if you head towards Morrison, on Morrison Road, just west of C470 there's a gas station and a little frontage road next to it that heads towards the drag strip. If you go there on Saturday mornings there are tons (hundred?) people that park there cars on the side of the road and go out on group rides.

Another option, like in any city/town, is that some of the local bike shops also organize group rides on the weekends.
