I'm looking into visiting Winter Park this summer and would like some suggestions where to stay. I'm looking for a nice, clean place, not too expensive/fancy. any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I'm not familiar with Winter Park specifically but if you find that Winter Park proper is too expensive you can try Frasier which is right next door and might be cheaper. Are you looking for hotels or condo rentals, etc?

We just came back from a week at Founders Pointe, right at the base of the mountain. Clean and comfortable. More money than staying in town, at least during ski season.

Legs, hotels. I assume condos are too expensive. So am I right in assuming that the ski area is somewhat of a drive to town?

About 2 miles to the town of Winter Park, and another 2 miles to Fraser.

The actual resort is 10-15 min before you hit the town. Drive through winterpark and you'll get to frasier

Never been to Winter Park to ski. How does it compare to the Summit Pass mountains? I know the only way to see is to experience it; but wanted to verify it was worth the $100 to get a lift ticket. Opinions, please...
