I'll see one near Parker every now and again. Used to see/hear them a lot more but not lately. I have seen that there have been more issues lately but I would consider the "more than what" part of the question. We don't back to open space or have a tiny dog or child which we leave outside unattended. This is certainly not something that should dissuade you from considering a move. It's not like we're a city of giant, man-eating coyotes hungrily wandering the streets day and night....

No, it won't dissuade me from moving there, just would want to take precautions if need be. I don't have small children (10 & 13) - I have an 80 lb. dog and two 25 lb. dogs. I'll just have to keep more of an eye on the smaller ones.

Where I am in our sub-division is surrounded by open space. I see them often outside and inside of the sub. They usually run off when they see me in the area. We keep our cats inside, and our Daughter is too young to be running around outside by herself. I do not fear them much at this point, none have been aggressive

I have lived in the foothills above Golden (western suburb of Denver) for about a year. Didn't see any coyotes at all until about 2 months ago; now I see them once or twice a week. This a.m. I hear them howling down near the Apex trail, which is a first.

I actually like seeing them, but having gotten a puppy recently I have to be vigilant when walking her; and I never leave her out alone in my (6-foot) fenced yard.

Coyotes are still largely scavengers. Even in packs they aren't real fond (or adept) at attacking anything as large as a human being. Small pets are always a concern. They're beautiful and fascinating animals, but if you start seeing them in your neighborhood, it probably wouldn't hurt to give them a good scare for the sake of pets, if nothing else. They typically scare quite easily. I wouldn't approach them sudden loud noises will usually run them off.

Sometimes the coyote packs are so thick here in Denver I am forced to carry a pair of pliers and stun gun...

It's the zombie coyotes and their pistachios that worry me.

Keep your cats indoors, otherwise there's a good chance they will be dinner for a coyote.
