Shortly, we will be settling on a condo in Lakewood (Belmar). I just got the paperwork from the Title Co and it appears that the assessed value is going up about 40%. From what I've read, they reassess every 2 years. It's hard to believe such a value is reasonable, considering the recent market.

Coming from out of state, I'm not familiar with the process in CO. Are assessment appeals typically done by the owner or an attorney (or someone else specializing in appeals)? Any advice appreciated.

Read this thread //www.city-data.com/forum/denve...oe-county.html for information about appealing property taxes. (It's statewide law.)
