I am relocating to Denver from Ohio for work in September and wanted some advice or any suggestions anyone could offer on neighborhoods and a few specific apartments that have caught my eye. First, in terms of area, I will be going to different client sites around Denver so a central location is best and I am in my 20's and single so I have decided that close to downtown will be best for me. I have pretty much ruled out LoDo because of price for a 1 bedroom so the neighborhoods that I have primarily been looking at are Capitol Hill, Uptown (north Cap Hill), and a little bit of Cherry Creek. Within these areas, does anyone have suggestions for apartment buildings to check out that would be under $1,000/mo for a 1br?

The ones I have been looking at that I would like opinions on are Sleek Lofts in Cap Hill right near Governors Park (what is that area like in general as well?), Somerset Apartments in Cap Hill, Uptown Village (300 East 17th) in north Cap Hill, and Talavera in Cherry Creek. Does anyone have any experience with any of those? I will be moving out about 2 weeks before my job starts to do my apartment hunting but would like to have a good idea of places to look at when I get there so I'm not running around blind right when I get out there. I have done the least research in the Cherry Creek area so I wanted to know whether this is a good area for a young, post college grad single person or if it was more of an older crowd. Any other areas you would recommend I check out besides what I have mentioned. It's pretty stressful trying to put a move together based on internet information but I thought some personal experience from people who live in Denver couldn't hurt at all. Thanks in advance to anyone who can help me out.

You can try rentals.com, because craigslist has been monopolized by certain advertisers and it really sucks that they post 20 ads in one day, with different headers.

Can't make any specific but one thing to consider is that some places often have a high turn over rate so what is available now may not be there in a day or two. Especially now with college starting and the kids are moving in.

Many apartment sites have nice reviews so I would use that along with the availability few days to a week or so before you come to make a plan and visit them.

I've known a few people who lived ay Uptown Village and were happy there. It's a younger crowd. You can walk down the street and catch the 16th street mall bus. Great central location.

The Cherry Creek area is kind of like the Beverly Hills of Denver. If you have a lot of money and enjoy spending your days shopping at upscale boutiques and dining out it might be a good fit. I don't see it as a good area for a recent college grad.
