I'm going to be leaving massachusetts in 2 months with 3 other people and a baby and we're going to be settling in the denver area. we have enough money for a month or two of rent..im not really worried about finding a place though. We are going down there with no jobs lined up.
Everyone has good experience and will most likely have no problem finding a job. I on the other hand, would like the peace of mind knowing that it will at least be relatively easy for me to find work because I am alot younger and have less experience than the others.

I have experience in restaraunts. At my current job I cook, waitress and do fountain (making ice cream desserts for sit-in customers, taking carryout orders and making them) basically EVERYTHING.
I also have experience with kids. I've had no formal training but I've practically raised my nephew and neices since they were born
(I'm a good sister to have haha)

Are restaraunts hiring out there? i'm going to have open availability and I have a reliable car and valid license.
also, what retail stores are out there that would be hiring?

Any information on jobs would be great. Thanks!

CoDreams, you're gonna love Colorado and we all wish you the best of luck in your coming venture. The metro area is about 3M people and I'm sure they'll be some sort of job for in one of our eateries, may not be great, but I can't see you getting skunked.

I admire you and your chutzpa. I, too, am hoping to move to Denver, soon. My circumstances are a bit different. I am a middle age mother of 4. My boys are grown, I still have two daughters at home; the oldest, almost 16, the youngest just turned 9. Currently I am a daycare aide working with toddlers. In my dreams I never thought I would enjoy it as much as I am. Here's the twist: I'm planning on leaving my husband, with Denver as our destination. My mom (who has worked in a daycare) and a niece (a daycare teacher) both live there. I suspect my sister and her family will be moving back there some time. My son is moving to Idaho (he's in the service), so I also would like to be closer to him. We live in central Minnesota, regretfully.
What's different about my situation is... hopefully after the settlement, I will have some cash to work with. My interest has been towards architectural drafting, design, and decorating. I am currently taking some online classes to help me in my pursuit.
My thoughts are, if not immediate employment, buying a fixer-upper (I've had lots of experience - can sheetrock, wire, replace flooring, tilework, etc.) to resell OR start an in-home daycare.
What I'm looking for is advice, and was hoping, if anyone replied to you, they could give me advice as well. How do the prospects for reselling homes look? How about daycares? Any glimmer's of hope for me out there?
Thanks!
